Talking at Code Conference yesterday, Google’s Chief Business Officer, Omid Kordestani, stated that a buy button is “imminent” for advertisements in Google search results. From Re/Code:
“There’s going to be a buy button. It’s going to be imminent,” Kordestani said on stage at the Code Conference Wednesday.
Kordestani described the product launch as a way to remove friction for users so they buy more things online. Some 90 percent of commerce is still offline, he noted.
As Kordestani said, the expansion of the buy button will facilitate the quantity of steps it takes for customers to make a purchase when seeing an advertisement. The Google executive didn’t give any other information, yet passing by the decision of “imminent,” it can’t be too much sooner than we begin seeing a buy button fasten pop on advertisements in search results.
