Telecom Argentina

In order to drive the Agtech ecosystem with the establishment of new sites, Telecom Argentina has announced plans to widen digital services and infrastructure in the Buenos Aires Province’s Pergamino and Rojas districts. Telecom Argentina hopes to improve connection in one of the country’s most productive agricultural regions by a large margin in the next 12 months with a focused coverage strategy that covers over 500,000 hectares.

Increasing Rural Connectivity

Telecom Argentina stated that in order to improve connection in important rural areas for agricultural output, this project entails the installation of seven new mobile sites equipped with 4G technology and IoT (Internet of Things) networks. Over 500,000 hectares will be continuously covered by the first cluster of this development, which will be located in the province of Buenos Aires’ Pergamino and Rojas districts.

Partnerships

According to the corporation, the modernization of the infrastructure is anticipated to foster the technical advancement of Argentine agriculture, especially when combined with strategic alliances with important players in the agro-industrial sector, such as input and machinery suppliers.

Solving Digital Divide

According to the official announcement, Telecom hopes to close the digital divide in rural areas by installing seven more sites to its present capacity. This would assist over 134,000 households and achieve 97 percent coverage in the targeted locations. In addition to adding dedicated Low Power (Low Power) networks for the Internet of Things (IoT) to enable customers and devices to receive the greatest connection on the 4G network, the business plans to start installing the first 4G site in the upcoming weeks.

Sustainability Development Journey

The effort aims to solve social, economic, and environmental concerns in over 21 places by promoting innovation, raising productivity, and lowering carbon emissions, in addition to enhancing connectivity. Over 30 million users are served by Telecom Argentina through its Personal and Flow brands.
