There is little that we don’t know about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A (2017) smartphones. Ahead of an official launch, the prices have leaked.
Samsung plans to kick off the new year with an event in Kuala Lumpur on January 5, where it will take the wraps off its Galaxy A (2017) smartphones. Ahead of the launch, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) have been spotted on a pre-order poster, which also reveal the prices of the upcoming devices.
According to the poster, the 2017 models of Galaxy A5 will be priced at RM 1,699, which is approximately Rs 25,700, while the Galaxy A7 is said to be available for RM 1,899, which is roughly around Rs 28,700. Samsung has announced that customers can pre-order the smartphones starting January 6, 2017. A poster has been spotted on Samsung’s official Dutch website, which confirms the imminent launch of the Galaxy A3 (2017) smartphone. Additionally, Samsung Malaysia’s VP of Mobile and IT Business Unit, Lee Jui Siang has also revealed that the Galaxy A (2017) smartphones will be IP68-certified, making them resistant to water and dust.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) specifications
The Galaxy A5 (2017) might launch with a 5.2-inch display and is likely to be offered in two variants single SIM and dual-SIM. Under the hood, an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor (four Cortex A72 cores + four Cortex A53 cores) clocked at 1.87GHz paired with 3GB of RAM is expected along with 32GB of onboard storage. A microSD card slot for further expansion is also expected.
On the photography front, there will be a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The smartphone will come with a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support. It will come with connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G LTE with VoLTE. On the software front, it could run Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under TouchWiz UI.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) specifications
From what we know so far, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full-HD display. Under the hood the smartphone will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7880 chipset, paired with Mali-T830 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It will also come with 32GB or 64GB onboard storage options, with option to further expand the option via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Galaxy A7 (2017) might come with a 16-megapixel back camera with f/1.9 aperture and auto-focus, face detection and touch focus to name a few features. Up front the smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel camera. Armed with 3,500mAh battery, the smartphone is likely to come with connectivity options such as 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and a new USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) specifications
The Galaxy A3 (2017), on the other hand, is the smallest of the two variants featuring a 4.7-inch HD (720p) display. Powered by an octa-core SoC and clocked at 1.5GHz, the smartphone will be paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard torage. The smartphone will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel selfie camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone will include options such as NFC, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3,000mAh battery, it is likely to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
