Videocon Telecom is working to launch its 4G services in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar telecom circles. Videocon scheduled to begin in next 6 to 8 months time.
Videocon has previously reported it is going to invest Rs 1,200 crore for three years of span on high speed 4G LTE services. The company as of now have 1800Mhz range in Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh/Chattisgarh, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Bihar telecom circles. Videocon will utilize its whole spectrum in 1800 Mhz band that it acquired in November 2012 action for the 4G services and has plan to introduce Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology to give voice call facility on LTE.
“Our infrastructure is ready to roll out the services in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh comprises circles like UP (East) and UP (West). However, handsets which support this band, or any LTE band for that matter, are expensive currently and also not widely available. So we are waiting for the right kind of ecosystem to roll out the services”, said Arvind Bali, Director & CEO, Videocon Telecom reports Business standard.
Videocon has chosen Huawei and Nokia Networks as its technology partner to setup 4G services in 29 cities in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It has additionally declared that it will offer 4G mobile broadband service along with 2G and 3G rates in these 29 cities.
