Microsoft Teams is preparing to launch on Google’s Android Auto, according to the Microsoft 365 roadmap (via TechRadar). This implies that you will soon be able to participate in video meetings and make calls from the comfort of your drive if your car has Android Auto installed.
Google first announced Teams’ coming on Android Auto during I/O 2023 in May. However, the business did not provide the precise date of the event. Now, about a month remains for Teams users to enjoy the peace and quiet of their car before it intrudes into their entertainment head unit.
The software is scheduled to launch next month, but Microsoft has kept specific details for us. The only thing it hides is the fact that you may “join meetings and make calls” directly from your head unit’s calendar screen.
Regarding whether Teams on Android Auto will work well with messages, this giant of software remains silent. Android Auto used to be mostly about media and navigation, but times have moved on. Google made the decision to shake things up last year by bringing weather and smart home applications to the platform.
Since then, a few of your most popular video conferencing providers have released apps for Android Auto. Zoom was the first to do so in September 2023, and Webex did the same within a week.
