Islalink Expands by Acquiring a Data Center in Madrid, Spain

The Spanish company Islalink confirmed the purchase of an as fresh data center located in Madrid. “We are proud to announce the acquisition of our new data center located in the vicinity of Barajas Airport, in the surroundings of Silicon Alley in Madrid,” Islalink reported on LinkedIn. “It is our fourth center in Spain, along with Valencia, Palma, and Ibiza.”

The acquisition, according to the company, was a part of its “strategic growth plan” for offering connectivity and data center services to consumers in local data area. Apart from the building’s photo in the LinkedIn post, the company did not provide any more information regarding the purchased location or the conditions of the deal.

EQT Infrastructure and Cube Infrastructure were two of the infrastructure funds that once owned IslaLink. Fiera Infrastructure, a Canadian investment fund, has controlled IslaLink since 2018. The company is listed on the website as the owner and operator of the IONIAN Submarine System and BalaLink. The business provides colocation services as well.
