NeutraDC and BDx Indonesia will host many independent IXs as part of the partnership, offering mutual support and technical help to build an interconnected IX ecosystem.

To improve Indonesia’s internet infrastructure, Telkom Indonesia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, often known as IOH, today established a strategic agreement. At the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) 2024 conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, NeutraDC, a Telkom Indonesia subsidiary, and BDx Indonesia, a joint venture of BDx Data Centers (BDx), Indosat, and Lintasarta, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin working together toward the establishment of an Interconnected Internet Exchange (IX) ecosystem.

Internet Exchange IX ecosystem

Both telecom companies, BDx Indonesia as Indosat’s data center partner and NeutraDC as Telkom Indonesia’s data center unit, have committed to bolstering their respective data center businesses through this agreement. According to the official release, the combined efforts will improve colocation capacities and capabilities, guaranteeing that the networked IX ecosystem gives end users the freedom to adopt a distributed security architecture and consume numerous services via a single port.

NeutraDC and BDx Indonesia will host many distinct IXs as part of the partnership, offering mutual support and technical help to build an integrated IX ecosystem. This will build a more streamlined and effective national internet architecture and strengthen the resilience of the Internet infrastructure.

Existence and Facilities

NeutraDC currently has hyperscale data centers in Cikarang and Batam, according to the official statement. In addition to hyperscale, NeutraDC has enterprise data centers dispersed throughout Indonesia.

In the meanwhile, BDx Indonesia operates many enterprise and hyperscale data centers in Jakarta and West Java, with a portfolio of facilities spanning all of the key islands. In Suryacipta, East Jakarta, the business is also building a specialized hyperscale campus. Additionally, it is establishing a greenfield site that will accommodate workloads related to artificial intelligence (AI).

Both telecom firms pledge, as part of their strategic alliance, to strengthen Indonesia’s Internet network infrastructure, promote innovation, and use increased connectivity to drive economic growth in the area.
