PowerHouse Data Centers Expands to Reno Campus Outside Virginia

PowerHouse Data Centers published plans for a new campus in Reno is expanding from Virginia into Nevada. American Real Estate Partners (AREP) and Harrison Street jointly own PowerHouse (PH), which recently announced that it has acquired the property for “PowerHouse Reno.” In the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC), a 900,000-square-foot powered shell data center campus consisting of three buildings is currently under development.

According to PH, the Reno location seeks to satisfy the region’s top hyperscale consumers’ growing data demands. This facility, which will be operational by the end of 2025, will be the company’s first endeavor outside of northern Virginia and will supply approximately 65 MW of bridging power.

“The central location of the Reno region to all key Western markets, access to low-cost renewable energy, a qualified workforce, competitive tax rates and abatements, and an overall business-friendly environment make it an optimal location,”

claimed the company.

“As the growth of AI throughout all industries continues to push hyperscale demand roll out, sites like PowerHouse Reno will serve the market with near-term power delivery at attractive costs with reliable renewable energy components,”

according to AREP and PH.

PowerHouse Data Center has expanded nationally for the second time in the previous two months. According to the official statement, PowerHouse is presently working on four projects in northern Virginia that will total more over 700 MW.
