Intel, a prominent manufacturer of microprocessors, recently unveiled the Core Ultra H and U series chips during the ‘AI Everywhere’ event. These chips aim to elevate the artificial intelligence (AI) experience for consumers to new heights. Boasting exceptional computing capabilities, they are renowned for delivering an unparalleled graphics experience. Intel proudly claims that the Core Ultra is their most power-efficient and AI-capable client processor to date. Notably, these chips incorporate dedicated AI acceleration across the GPU, CPU, and NPU architectures.

What sets the Core Ultra series apart is the optimization of over 300 AI-accelerated features and collaboration with more than 100 independent software vendors (ISVs). This extensive optimization makes these chips highly advantageous for various industries such as healthcare and retail, as they facilitate power-efficient AI acceleration at the edge. It is projected that by 2028, AI personal computers (PCs) will dominate 80% of the PC market, further emphasizing the significance of these cutting-edge chips.

The Intel 4 process serves as the foundation for the new Intel Core Ultra chips. According to Intel, the Core Ultra marks a significant architectural shift in the company’s history, boasting the advanced Foveros 3D packaging technology. These chips are equipped with AI Boost technology, which enhances power efficiency by 2.5 times for extended AI workloads.

In terms of memory capacity, the Core Ultra can accommodate up to 64TGB LP5/x and 96GB DDR5. It offers support for both Wi-Fi 6E and Intel Wi-Fi 7, ensuring seamless connectivity. Additionally, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity is also available, enabling lightning-fast transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.

Intel Gaudi3 AI Accelerator is a significant development unveiled by Intel at the ‘AI Everywhere’ event. Expected to be released in 2024, this cutting-edge chip is specifically designed to enhance generative AI software. With this innovation, Intel aims to rival the offerings of Nvidia and AMD in the AI market. While Nvidia has dominated this sector with its chips, Intel is determined to provide enterprises and large organizations with additional choices and solutions.
